Guest Blogging Project Life at Rukristin Papercrafts!

Hi Everyone! I am guest blogging at Kristin's Blog, rukristin papercrafts today! She has lots of fun tutorials, ideas and crafty projects on her blog! So spend sometime and check them all out.

I finally started working on my PL. I am all caught up uptil October 8th. I need to go through and print photos after that.

Here is a sneak peek of my PL page!

The most challenging part of PL is keeping up with it after vacations and other family needs. But, I simply find it hard to make it simple. I have to embellish and add doo-dads which takes more time. For me that is the fun part of PL. Just diving into your stash.

Hop on over to Kristin's blog to view the whole page!! I had a lot of fun working on it.

Love You Everyday-CMS Challenge #16

Hi! I am back again with a layout! I am so happy with the way this one turned out! I am so glad I made the jump and bought the Cameo. I can't say enough good things about it. It cuts like butter. With the change in format of challenges over at CMS, we now have four color palette's each month. Each challenge run's for 2 weeks, so there is a overlap but enough time. Every palette has a added twist to it, a sketch/word/technique. It is super fun, I haven't had a problem with it yet. I think it just makes it more interesting. So this is what I came up with this week's challenge!

I just had to scrap this pic. Anurag and myself, we were making funny faces and just clicking pics on the phone for fun. I spent three hours with him at the park and he wanted to stay longer!! Sid joined us after work. Played some more with him. He is so adorable. We say 'I love you' to each other all day long. I am so blessed to have him!

Isn't the arrows pattern paper rocking! I love it! I cut out the center since it was getting covered anyways, just to save that paper! LOL, Yes I do have a paper addiction. I hoard in all possible ways:) I love all the papers used on this layout. The weekdays, the arrows, and the kraft love paper.

I used Ali Edward's handwriting font for the title. I used kraft, white and blue core cardstock. I cut the three layers, one slightly bigger than the other just so they would peek from underneath. I saw Amy Tan's layout here and loved how she hand stitched those arrows. I decided to do mine in brown. I love the transparency tape. I added some at the bottom and top.

I also stitched some silvers arrows. I am obsessed with silver and gold ! I added little bits of AC Silver glitter ribbon in three different places on the layout. I think it adds such a rich feel to the whole page!

After adding some more machine sewing in silver, I cross-stitched the word 'Love' with the same brown thread. I cut the bubble from the Take Note paper by pebbles. The twist in this challenge was to use the word 'Enter' somewhere on the layout. I used it to say ' Entered Terry Hershey Park at 3.15 and left three hours later'. The vellum happiness bubble was part of my SC kit. The tiny puffy arrows, hearts and clouds are also SC Kit exclusives! Well, I hope I have inspired you a little bit today!

This challenge runs from November 8th to 15th. Don't forget to use the word ' Enter' somewhere on the layout along with the below color palette.

Again this month's sponsor at CMS is Paper Issues! Cassie is giving away $20 gift certificate to her store. All you have to do is enter in at-least two of the challenges this month and your name will be entered twice. If you do all the four challenges, it will be entered four times! The more you play, the more chances you get to win! Her store has awesome goodies! So don't miss out! Hop on over to Color Me Scrappy and check out what the other designers did with this color palette!

You did it!! CMS and PI Challenge #15.

It has been a difficult month with Anurag. One long stressful month. But we did manage to have some fun in between:-) I am so thankful for the few days filled with fun and happiness. We left home to go to Gymboree drop-off class, only to find out they had changed the schedule and not updated it online. I got totally irritated with the girl at the front desk since she didn't even let us enter and wait in the lobby for 20 minutes for the open gym to start. I decided to take Anurag to the park instead of waiting in the parking lot. It turned out to be so much fun ! We were at the park for three hours! Watched the ducks, played on the slides, climbed, did monkey bars, took a snack break, walked and ran around. It was good to spend quality time together. I had to scrap the photos we took at the park.

I loved the fall-ish color palette and the sketch at CMS for Challenge #15. This is my take on it! I totally enjoyed working on this layout.

I back-stitched the sun rays. It took quite some time to hand sew. But, was fun. I finally used my huge stash of embroidery thread ! I also machine sewed some rays in silver. I am loving the metallic thread I picked up from Joann's. So much fun! I cut out the circle from the SC pattern paper and added a bright yellow polka dot paper for the sun. I love how bright it is!

I started my journaling right on the layout but still had a lot to write! So I added a shipping tag to do the rest of my journaling. I added a blue ribbon to capture one of the challenge colors. I added washi at the bottom of the picture to match the horizontal lines in the sketch. I did some machine sewing with silver thread on the layers. I am totally obsessed with sewing! I love the flair it adds to a layout.

I added some stickers from Echo Park, Pink Paislee and the cute flag pin by Basic Grey. I was so proud of Anurag to finally have overcome his fear of closed slides! I added a trophy sticker by Pink Paislee. Sid thought it was funny:-).  I added some Mister Hueys and some Wood Veneer Stars to finish it off.

I plan to take him to the park more frequently from now on. It is a great way to spend time together. Away from technology :-)

I hope you will give this palette a try! Check it out at Color Me Scrappy! Now for the exciting part, this month's challenge has been sponsored by Paper Issues!!! Cassie has generously offered a $20 gift card to her etsy store!
